2007 Ride Season Begins with 4th Anniversary BBQ!

We officially kicked off our 2007 Ride Season with the Chapter 4th Anniversary BBQ on April 14, hosted at Scott and Kathy's home in Farmington, NM.   Approximately 18 members showed up and had a good meal, a good ride and great time.  This means that the run for the 2007 Member Mileage Awards has begun, and the website is updated with the current mileage figures for all participating members. You can see the mileage chart HERE.  Wanda Holsey earned her 5,000 mile pin with the 4th Anniversary Ride.  Congratulations!

We still have some Four Corners Chapter patches left, and members who wish to purchase one need only let us know.  The patches are $6 each and the proceeds go into the Chapter Fund to offset costs of future Chapter events, pins and awards.

2007 Ride Schedule Meeting Held

Farmington, NM

Over 20 members of the Four Corners Chapter attended a meeting in Farmington on January 27, 2007.  After a great meal at the Outback Steakhouse, the meeting was convened at the LaQuinta Inn.  The agenda included a run-down of the annual events held by the Chapter, most predominantly the Armed Forces Day Veteran's Benefit held in May, and the Summer Fun Run held in June.  Grizz indicated that the schedule would include at least one, and probably two more overnight camping trips this year, one likely possibility is a Lake City Run.   Jimbo announced that an Inter-Chapter Ride involving all of the Colorado Chapters would be included in the schedule.  The rally point would probably be in the Salida - Buena Vista area, and would be an overnighter.  The very tentative date goal would be around July 21, and this has to be coordinated with the other chapters.

The New Mexico members were invited to submit ideas for rides in the New Mexico area so that we can both add some new destinations to our Chapter Ride Schedule, and also create a more equitable schedule for our remote members.

Grizz recapped previous years' Chapter ride mileage totals which is approaching 60,000 total miles since we began the mileage awards.  Grizz indicated that the 2007 Ride Schedule would be out by the end of February or the beginning of March with the first ride at the end of March.  Members were encouraged to utilize the Colorado Southern Cruisers forum and the chapter websites to keep abreast of  current activities and announcement of impromptu rides and events.

After a brief socializing period, the meeting was adjourned and the party commenced.
